Our story

Hello and welcome to Gracewyk!

It started with a love for seeds and growing, a window full of plants, and impulsively buying a small greenhouse. Our small flower farm in the heart of Paradise Valley is a continuously evolving project. We are Henry and Jannah, two lovers of playing in the dirt and trying to grow all of the things. We dabble in this and that, and our hobby garden grew into a desire to share the beauty of fresh, local flowers with our community.

Little did we know that buying a little greenhouse would completely change our lives… Back in 2018, we were living in Livingston and I stumbled across this little geodesic greenhouse on Facebook marketplace for a STEAL!! We thought it would be fun, and the property we lived on at the time had plenty of room. We’d been dreaming about having some kind of greenhouse since we got married, and then that dream started to grow.

Spring of 2019 brought a flurry of changes as we hurried to finish house renovations to sell our house in Livingston, move to my parent’s property in Paradise Valley, and start our flower farm. As is typical with renovations, they always take longer than expected. Between finishing renovations and moving, we were only able to start a fraction of what we had hoped, but it was a start.

The following couple years brought more unexpected and it’s been a challenge to reach the volume of planting we’d like. Our little plot has grown from 625 sq. ft. to 2500 sq. ft., and we were able to add a high tunnel in the fall of 2021, allowing us to extend our very short growing season! We’re excited for all that lies ahead as we continue to expand and learn.

What is Gracewyk?

Gracewyk began from a period of transitions, a period that was filled to the brim and overflowed with God’s grace as we maneuvered a series of big changes. We hope this grace pours out in all that we do!

We believe that grace is so much more than just elegance or extra kindness. This grace is the generous and unmerited favor of God. It goes hand in hand with mercy, where we are not given the punishment we deserve and instead are shown God’s grace in being given so much more than we deserve!

-wyk is simply an obscure spelling of a suffix that means “dwelling-place”, “abode”, or “farm”

This is our place of grace, for ourselves and others in a very messy world.
